Our Founder — Ernesto Olivas
Ernesto came from a business family! Back home in Mexico, his parents, siblings, and him ran different businesses including a grocery store, bakery, butcher shop, and a tortilleria. Safe to say that business is in his blood!
At the age of 27, now a husband and father, Ernesto needed a fresh start and decided to move to the USA. Once here and needing to provide for his family, he started working and stumbled upon the amazing industry of countertop fabrication and installation. He began learning everything he could about the ins and outs of the trade that he grew to love.
The Inception — 2005
In 2005, Ernesto registered Olivas Granite and Marble LLC. With a limited budget and English speaking skills, he worked day and night to make his new company a success.
He started in a small shop near Franklin Park, IL with a small pickup truck and a very determined attitude to excel. He was able to gain more and more customers due to his excellent work ethic and friendly personality that his customers came to love.

Growth — The Kids Join the Team
As Olivas Granite and Marble continued to grow, Ernesto moved his shop closer to his family in Romeoville, IL to cut down his commute and get more warehouse space for new machinery. This allowed his children to get more involved in the company.
Helen Aviles
Operations & Sales
Studied business administration in college and soon after graduation began working full time. She works directly with clients helping with sales and daily business operations. She loves the design aspect and creating beautiful layouts—even if it takes hours!
Carlos Olivas
Measuring & Installation
Following in Helen's footsteps, Carlos also studied business administration in college. He does a lot in the business including measuring, installing, and helping in the office when needed.
Nestor Olivas
Technology Lead
Unlike his siblings, Nestor studied applied science with a focus in computer technology. He takes the lead in making sure all technology aspects are covered—keeping up with the best software and hardware to provide the best service and quality.
Aime Hernandez
Lead Sales Associate
Aime joined our team in 2021 and has been a great addition. She is a very friendly and knowledgeable sales lead who can help any customer choose the perfect material for their project.
